The Simple Life

This blog has a couple of treats from sports, gifts, and fathers day. What a variety for everyone! (you can stop applauding now)

Dominik has a golf glove that he loves to wear. I mean he will wear it to eat, play around the house, and pretty much everywhere....except golfing. Recently while we were out gathering grub, Dominik decided to lay his gloved hand on Andrew's car seat. Andrew found the glove hilarious and Dominik wasn't even moving his fingers! We have no idea what sparks their tiny curiosities, but he truly enjoyed the glove by belly laughing and squealing at it.

Recently we celebrated fathers day. A couple of days before this big event, I asked the kids what they would like to get daddy for his day. So we went to Target in search of the thoughtful gifts. Dominik got Sam a matchbox car because he said daddy enjoys cars and playing cars with him. Samantha got Sam a "man doll" which means Ken. She got a prince for her prince. My joy was watching the kids determined faces as they carefully chose the perfect car and doll for daddy to enjoy. They also picked out cards to write in and wrapping paper that daddy would enjoy. Sam loved the gifts and told them to hang onto them for when they could all play together after he got home from work.

Lately we have been enjoying the simple things through the kids. What seems like simple things to us are truly heartfelt, thoughtful, and amazing things when seeing their joy.

  1. Truely, the simple things are what carries the best memories. Whether it's in word or deed (like Mr. Potato Head glasses) you remember them. I pray that you and Sam have the priviledge of remembering each of those "Special" occurances that happen in each of theirs lives.

  2. I seem to remember another father that liked things from his children's heart. I believe he still has some of those packed away.
